2020 WW50 & 50km Additional Guidelines/ Information

Since the release of National Lock Down and the return of events to Forestry Commission land, the FC national policy has been to allow a maximum of 30 attendees to any one event. That number must include any staff or volunteers.

During the first week of October, that strategy was reviewed and the FC made a decision to uphold this policy through the remainder of 2020.

That ruling means that our Wendover Woods 50 and Wendover Woods Night 50km, scheduled to take place on 14th-15th November, are no longer viable in their traditional format.

During the week of 5th-9th October, runners were given a number of options via a poll, to indicate what their preference either on racing in smaller 30 person events spread across several days, racing virtually, deferring to 2021 or 2022, or cancelling their entry.

On 13th October, all runners were emailed and asked to select the final choice. The formats offered are as follows:

Wendover Woods 50

- Race 0700-2200 Friday 13th November. Restricted to 30 starters.

- Run the race virtually between the 9th November and 29th November inclusive. Can be done anywhere as long as the distance, elevation change and 15 hour time limit are adhered too. Those runners receive a 50% discount on 2021 entry.

- Defer to 2021 or 2022 at no cost.
