Autumn 100 2026 Preview

The 2026 edition of the Autumn 100 kicks off at 0900 on Saturday 17th October. A field of 250 starters including 15 potential Grand Slam Finishers will be looking to finish what is officially the fastest trail 100 in the land - under the 28 hour cut off.

Follow along via the live tracking page which will appear here in the lead up to race day, and to our instagram channel here where we will be posting reels and photography from around the course across race weekend.

Originally known as the Winter 100 before its move to an earlier autumn race weekend all the way back in 2014, this year marks the 15th consecutive edition of this event.

Last year, Hugh Tibbs set a new all time 100 mile trail best on British soil, coming home in 13:03. The womens course record still belongs to Susie Chesher after her sensational run at the 2016 event, where she finished in 15:22. In fact, that stood as the fastest womens trail 100 on British soil up until this past June, where Sarah Webster finally broke that mark at the SDW100.

Amongst the field this year are some stand out athletes with no less than four past TP100 champions looking to contend for overall crowns, along with the age group award potentials, those on the hunt for PBs and of course, all many more who simply dream of finishing their first 100 mile race.

WOMEN

Sam Hudson Dos Santos Figueira (ITRA 600): Sam has been one of the most prolific and successful athletes in both Marathon and Ultra running over the past 15 years, such that her results are really too extensive to summarise. Representing GB over 24 hours, 100km and 50km. She was Thames Path 100 champion in 2016 in 16 hours flat - still the course record. She won that race again in 2020. She set the British Womens 100 Mile Record at our Track 100 in Bedford, running 14:10, before that record was lowered by the one and only Sarah Webster. This year she won the Barry 40 mile track race and was second at a 24hr event in Germany this August just gone.

Jennie Dunkley (ITRA 528): Thames Path 100 Champion last year, from which she went on to win our 100 mile Grand Slam as well as completing the Winter Downs 100 for a five 100 mile finish year. She was fifth at this event in 2023 in 20:50, still her 100 mile PB.

Anna Brown (ITRA 556): Thames Path 100 Champion in 2024. Anna has finished in the top ten of all of our other 100s too, including a best here of 19:52 for fourth in 2022. She is however, fresh off of the back of an amazing Spartathlon where she finished 11th in 30:44, so she may not be coming in perhaps as fresh as some of the others!

Georgia Campbell (ITRA 606): Fifth at the NDW50 in 2025, she has also been a past winner of the Harrogate Hustle 35 mile and finished on the podium at the 2024 Lakes Traverse.

Tina Bergman (ITRA 586): Fifth at the South Downs Way 100 in 2025, Tina also has podium finishes to her name at many other past events including Country to Capital and Al Andalus Ultimate Trail.

Natalie Light (ITRA 564): Fifth at Swiss Alps 100km in August. Seventh at Transylvania 80km in May and 12th at the 2025 South Downs Way 100 are stand out results amongst many other strong performances over the last few years.

Tamsin Neale (ITRA 545): Second at the Thames Path 100 in 2024, third at the Chiltern Wonderland 50 in 2023 and a previous best at this event of 20:28 for sixth in 2022.

Alex Coomber (ITRA 540): Ex-Team GB winter Olympian, who has finished in the top ten of many of our events in the past, with bests of second at SDW50 and third at NDW50.

MEN

Kim Collison - La Sportiva (ITRA 798): One of the most decorated mountain athletes in the UK with results too numerous to cover, Kim is the current Lakeland 24hr record holder and Munro 24hr record holder. 2025 Spine Winter Full Winner. 2024 Swiss Peaks 360 Winner. Past Lakeland 50, Arc of Attrition, Northern Traverse Champion, the list goes on and on.

Kim Collison

Jeremy Swainson (ITRA 752): The 2026 Scafell Sky Ultra Champion and winner of the 14 Peaks Ultra too - Jeremy is currently second in the Uk Skyrunning Series. This is a departure from Jeremy's normal hunting ground of the mountains at this event.

Matthew Duckett (ITRA 746): Second at the 2024 Winter Downs 100 in 16:28. And of course who can forget, he was the winner of the last edition of the Piece of String Fun Run in 2019 that finished at his own front door!

Guido Pastore (ITRA 714): Guido was third at this years Thames Path 100, finished the SDW100 in 35th place too. These were his first races in the UK after some extremely strong results in his native Italy and around Europe, usually on more mountainous trails.

Matt Gallagher (ITRA 694): This years Thames Path 100 Champion in 15:39. He was then 13th at the SDW100 before becoming a late drop whilst in second place at the NDW100 due to injury. Let's hope he is recovered in time to go well here as he always does. He has two finishes here in sixth and seventh places with a best of 16:34.

Matt Gallagher

John Harris (ITRA 694): Fourth at Manchester to Liverpool 50 miler in 2025 in a time of 6:01, John also finished second at this years Punk Panther's Harrogate Hustle 35 mile earlier this year.

Harry Pickering (ITRA 693): Winner of the 2025 Winter Downs 100. Harry had a great run at SDW100 too with a 16th placed finish. But scattered anongst those are DNFs at the Arc of Attrition, Race to the Stones and NDW100 in August where he was out in a clear lead for a good chunk of the course. Let's hope he can nail this one.

Harry Pickering

As always a huge thanks in advanced to the incredible army of volunteers that will make this race happen.
